Arend Visits Shriners Hospitals For Children

National Dragster, May 28, 2004

Funny Car driver Jeff Arend visited the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Chicago May 19 prior to competing at the seventh annual NHRA Route 66 Nationals. The former Funny Car national event champion will visit some of the children and their parents, distributing CMKXtreme Machine souvenirs and signing autographs.

"We want to try and help bring a little feeling of being at the races to those who don't have a chance to make it out to Route 66 Raceway," Arend said. "The Shriners Hospitals for Children-Chicago is a great organization, and we are extremely proud to represent both CMKX Diamonds and NHRA."

The Chicago Shriners Hospitals for Children-Chicago provides quality pediatric orthopedic surgery; plastic, reconstructive, and craniofacial surgery; and spinal-cord injury care. The 60-bed short-term facility provides quality medical care while engaging in innovative education and research. The hospital is one of 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children operating in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
