BRISTOL DRAGWAY, Bristol (April 17-18) - Scotty Richardson was the big winner during the B&M Series weekend at Bristol Dragway. Richardson, the defending B&M Series Pro champion, won the class events Saturday and Sunday and scored in Footbrake Friday night to earn $26,500 for his weekend exploits.

Richardson knocked off Rodney Byrd in the Pro final Saturday to pocket the biggest purse of the week-end, $15,000. On Sunday, Richardson defeated Rick Harless to win the $10,000 top prize in Pro. Friday's $1,500 Footbrake victory came against Bristol Dragway Bracket Club member Neal Church, who, despite losing, had a good weekend, winning the $1,000 Uniglobe bonus that is given to the club member who has the best showing during the weekend. Church, who went 12 rounds, edged out Tim Griffith, who went 10.

Andy Beal won Friday's Pro race over J.T. Johnson, and J.R. Jackson nabbed Saturday's Footbrake title over Duke Snyder. Jim Wood won Sunday's Footbrake race, and Steve Sisko won the 16-car Shootout. - Lori Worley
