Lee's Summit North takes overall title at Spring High School Drags

KANSAS CITY INT'L RACEWAY, Kansas City, Mo. (April 25) - On a beautiful day in Kansas City, an intense battle between two rival schools ended with Lee's Summit North High School winning by a slim margin over Lee's Summit. Crowned the top overall school despite no final-round wins, Lee's Summit North had a strong field of cars and also won the Most Spirited High School award at this year's Spring High School Drags presented by Vamp Automotive and John Deere. The event attracted more than 460 racers in both high school and alumni categories.

David Worley won the Greg's Tires Burnout Contest, and Tyler Van Lant received Best Appearing Car honors. Mark Raya earned top honors in the Car Stereo Contest presented by Nebraska Furniture Mart and USCi.

On the track, Ryan McCullough won High School Quad over Michael O'Connor. Josh Anderson rode to victory in High School Bike, defeating Travis Wilson. Justin Sitzman topped Jeryka Lohner in High School Bracket 3, High School Bracket 2 honors went to Vince Woska over Tyler Wudarczyk, and Justin Seifert won High School Bracket 1 over Rachel Cargill. Beau Berry beat Matthew Whittle for the Alumni Quad title. Carson McCord was the Alumni Bike winner, topping Jason Brown in the final, and Jay Morrison outlasted Larry Hinman in Alumni Car.

Race officials thanked all who competed in addition to Vamp Automotive, John Deere, Greg's Tires of Independence, Nebraska Furniture Mart, USCi, Lincoln Tech, U.S. Army, NHRA, and Kansas City Int'l Raceway for a very successful day of Spring High School Drags.
