Luncheon Speaker:

VICKI LACHMAN, R.N., PH.D.

"Taking Care of Ourselves: The Basics and Beyond"

The New Jersey Nursing Convention is honored to have Ms. Vicki D. Lachman, RN, Ph.D. as our 2004 Luncheon Speaker. Ms. Lachman is president of V.L. Associates, a consulting and training firm specializing in the changing needs of the health care industry.

Have you ever wondered why nurses are so good at caring for others, but not good at caring for themselves? Why is it so hard to do what we know is best for ourselves? How can we get beyond the guilt of taking time for ourselves? These questions and others will be the central focus of the luncheon talk by Vicki D. Lachman, R.N., Ph.D.

Dr. Lachman holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Development from Temple University and a Masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Most recently, she completed a Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. Her forthcoming book, on Conversations Ethics in Nursing, is due for release in January 2004.

Dr. Lachman challenges nurses to take care of themselves as well as take care of others. She explores why it is so hard to do what we know is best for ourselves. She helps us get beyond the guilt of taking time for ourselves.

Come and join us at the NJ Nursing Convention Luncheon to hear Dr. Lachman's practical, dynamic and thought-provoking presentation.
