Silent Auction Nets Over $7000 for Institute Scholars, Education and Research

New Jersey Nurse, May/Jun 2004 by Zafar, Ita Fitzgerald

The auction that was held during the annual 2004 New Jersey Nursing Convention in Atlantic City was an electric event. Vacation destinations like Orlando Florida, Chincoteague Island, Jersey Shore, NYC and Martha's Vineyard attracted the highest number of bids and the largest donations. Vacation packages were not the only items up for bid, The Institute for Nursing Board members and NJSNA Regions came through with about 40 items, and convention goers came through with plenty of bids on gift and theme baskets, home decorating items, sports memorabilia, and much, much more.

A review of the items that attracted the most bids offers a valuable insight into what makes a nurse spend money:

* Portable DVD Package

* Laser Printer

* Wine Baskets

* Collection Doll

* Spa Packages

* Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament Package

* Gourmet Coffee and Coffee Pot Package

* Home Decor

We wish to thank all our very generous donors who reach deep every year and support the Institute through this exciting event.
