Albuquerque (September 2004): The University of Phoenix announces the promotion of Darlene Hess to Campus College Chair, College of Health & Human Services/Nursing, New Mexico Campuses. In her role she will oversee several activities, including selecting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty, and developing and maintaining the quality of the Nursing and Health Sciences programs for New Mexico.
Hess has been with the University of Phoenix since 1996, where she served as faculty and Area Chair for Nursing and Health Sciences, New Mexico Campus. She has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico and is the owner of her own company PraxisKnowledge, and a senior partner in Integrative Practice Consultants.

Hess has her Ph.D. in Health Promotion/Health Education from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama. Hess Chairs the New Mexico Board of Nursing Integrative Practice Subcommittee and is an active member with several organizations including: New Mexico Nurse Practice Advisory Committee, Sigma Theta Tau International, and American Holistic Nurses Association.
