(Domtar Inc.)

Print Action, May 2003

DOMTAR INC. continues to divest because of tough market conditions in the lumber market. The company has sold its Daveluyville re-manufacturing facility to Denis Villiard from Sorel-Tracy. Villiard split the transaction into two companies. Sechoirs Daveluyville will acquire all the land, buildings and dryers, while Pinextra will acquire the edge-glued panel production equipment.

An over supply of lumber in the North American marketplace, combined with antidumping duties, led Domtar to review its activities. Domtar is the third largest producer of uncoated free-sheet paper in North America.
