Judge's Comments: Honours the single entry that epitomizes the principles of universal design, originality, innovation, environmental sustainability, communication/shelf impact, purchase appeal, and quality of execution. Graphic treatment is both simple and sophisticated. Package employs four different languages to detail the features of both the individual product and the Cuisipro line, underscoring the product's universality. Dade creative use of minimal materials while maintaining the high-end look and feel of the product. This minimalist approach also enhances the environmental sustainability of the package.

Judge's Comments: 4-colour process and special PMS inks create the funky 3D graphics, bold colours and contemporary design that mark the Fruitopia brand. Colours are also effectively used to differentiate flavours while maintaining strong brand identity. The end result is a package that stands out on the shelf and calls for action.

Judge's Comments: Recognizes the entry that best addresses current consumer packaging preferences. The package conveys a hand crafted or craftsman look and feel. An innovative internal structure to protect the product using E-Flute corrugated material. Of particular note, the recessed handle at the top of the box allows for easy palletization.

Judge's Comments: Canadian Seniors Packaging Advisory Council selected the Le petit chef line of microwaveable meals by as the single entry that best meets the needs of an aging population. Attractive and colourful, the family of packages ensures maximum legibility through effective use of contrasting colours for type and background - a key consideration for an aging population. Product information of keen interest to seniors is particularly well presented, including food allergy warnings and number of servings.
