SHOREWOOD PACKAGING is producing an RFID-based smart drug packaging solution, called the Med-ic ECM (Electronic Content Monitor). The initiative began 18 months ago with the Information Mediary Corporation. The smart-label technology works with IMC's CertiScan digital RFID reader and software to provide tamper proofing and tracking.
Shorewood, a business of International Paper, has Canadian plants located in Brockville, Smith Falls and two in Toronto.
