PRESSTEK has bought Precision Lithograining Corporation, an independent plate production site that produces Presstek's Anthem and Freedom plates. The cash transaction is said to be valued at around US$13 million. Both companies plan expansion, but will continue to maintain their own operations.
JACQUES GREGOIRE continues to expand Imprimerie Solisco through acquisition with the June buyout of Caractera, Print and Neomedia. Last fall, Montreal-based Solicso purchased Toronto-based Delta Group. Caractéra has been in business for over 35 years, and its primary services include print production, web development and hosting, digital asset management and advertising distribution. Solisco now has over 500 employees in five facilities in Scott, Sainte-Marie de Beauce, Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto. It now claims to be the biggest independent printer in Eastern Canada.
