Now that I have your attention . . . each member is awarded benefits just for belonging to The Alabama State Nurses Association. You have the opportunity to save money on rental cars, continuing education, hotel stays, sales items, and legal advice. It's not uncommon for me to talk with people that have been members for many years and have never heard of the "Greenbucks" program. Below is a list of membership benefits that you may not be aware of or have forgotten. Not using your benefits is like throwing money in the fire!

Hertz Rental Cars:

Members have a card issued to him or her upon receipt of thek initial application. Cards expire each June 30th and unless you request a new one, it may not be there when you need it.

Hotel Discount Card:

The Alabama State Nurses Association hotel discount card can save you up to 30%, (I have actually saved about 50% in the past), at several different well know chains. You are issued this card at initial application. If you don't have one, let me know. It's easy to use and gives you a few extra dollars to buy the gas to get there!

Greenbucks:

When you recruit new members to ASNA you receive credit toward "greenbucks." Greenbucks coupons are good toward payment of registration at ASNA continuing education programs or at the sales tables. Coupons in the amount of $10.00 are issued for each full, two reduced (student/new grads/unemployed), or four special (totally disabled/retired & not employed/65+ & and earning more than social security allows). They are good for one year.

Legal Advice:

Attorney Don Eddins represents ASNA both as a Lobbyist and as our Legal Representative. Each member has one free hour each year to use for whatever you need. Don will help you with wills, rights of attorney, or just answer questions you have. Should you ever need him in the event you are called before the Board, he will represent you before the Board free of charge and should it go to court, offer reduced fees to members. Members can get Don's number from the ASNA office by calling our 800 number.

Continuing Education:

As a member you save up to 40% on each Continuing Education program ASNA offers. For example, at our Selma Workshop members paid $40, non-members $55.
