Alabama Nurse, Jun-Aug 2006 by Pippin, Lu
Keeping abreast of Healthcare changes continues to be the challenge for all nursing leaders. The AIaONL Executive Board and all local chapters continue to face the challenge with enthusiasm.
Increasing enrollment and involvement by nursing leaders this year is going to be a primary initiative. The executive board would like more involvement from the five regions as we evaluate staffing needs, education needs, and current issues that are facing the nursing profession in the state of Alabama today. As a group, we are excited to participate with the ASNA in the annual convention being held in Auburn on Sept. 29 and 30th. We are also working on preliminary plans for a spring fling conference to be held at an Alabama beach resort sometime in the upcoming spring. Look for the notices in the future.
AIaONL continues to commit to work closely with the Alabama Board of Nursing. We applaud their efforts with automation of the annual report. Although we know it will be more work for us this year, the value of the data in years to come will be impressive.
The organization will be contacting each district this year to discuss possible teleconferences, to enhance our statewide efforts for effective communication and information sharing.
We look forward to another challenging year, and hope to see all of vou at the Seotember meetine.
