Chemical Composition of Essential Oil from Seven Ocimum basilicum L. Accessions, Brine Shrimp Lethality Bioassay and Inhibitory Activities Against GAPDH and APRT

Data were means of three repetitions and values as percent of control were used as follows:

% inhibitory activity = {(U/mg control -U/mg compound)/U/mg control} x 100

The results of Brine shrimp lethality bioassay and inhibitory enzymatic activity against GAPDH and APRT are given in Table II.

All the oils showed significant cytotoxic activity with LC^sub 50^

On the other hands, the oils did not display significant GAPDH and APRT activity (% inhibitory activity

This is the first report of the oil analysis from leaves of some specific O. hasilicum L. genotypes and their biological activities.
