Dr. Ellen Fries House has been a resident of Reno since 1980. She is currently a Nursing Professor at Truckee Meadows Community College and was the 2001 Northern Nevada Nurse Educator of the Year. She has also served as an NCLEX-PN Item Writer. Her doctoral dissertation "Organized Nursing in the Silver State: A History of the Nevada Nurses'Association was published in 1991 under her maiden name (Fries) as she completed her studies at the University of San Diego.
