SCNF Small Grants Program For Healthy Communities

Amount of Award: Up to $1,000.00

Purpose of Award:

To encourage and support nursing participation in health promotion related projects and/or disease prevention within the community.

Screening Criteria:

* Projects should focus on health promotion and/or disease prevention

* Projects must involve collaboration with a community group or organization

* Projects must be led by a nurse

* Project must have a timeline for completion

Proposal Criteria:

* Purpose, goals and scope of project are clearly stated and identified

* Description of target population is stated

* List of project participants, with contact person is stated

* Project budget with identification of how small grant would be spent is explained in detail. Indirect costs are not allowed.

Process for Review of Proposals:

* Applications will be submitted to SCNF Health Communities Grant Committee

* Applications will be screened for basic criteria

* Applications will be ranked according to established criteria

* Please note: There is no SCNF Small Grants Application

Timetable:

* Applications to be returned to SCNF by August 4, 2003

* Grant presented at the SCNA House of Delegates Meeting October 25, 2003
