SILVER SPRING, MD-This new 200 page publication is for everyone who currently refers to and utilizes the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as a guideline for putting the core values expressed in the Code into everyday practice. The organization that would become the ANA first discussed a code of ethics in 1896 and; as the Code of Ethics evolved, it has reflected the complex and changing roles of nurses over the decades. In 2008, it continues to provide a framework for ethical decision making in all areas of nursing practice.
