Coyle Given Permanent Position

The New York Liberty have removed the interim tag from head coach Pat Coyle's title, naming her the full-time head coach of the team.

"We are extremely proud to introduce Patty Coyle as the official head coach of the New York Liberty," said team senior vice president and general manager Carol Blazejowski. "We have great confidence in Patty's proven ability to lead our team and believe her passion, commitment and knowledge of the women's game will help us reach our ultimate goal-the WNBA championship."

Coyle took over the Liberty on July 3 and led the team to a 13-10 mark and the WNBA Eastern Conference Finals. She had been a Liberty assistant since 1998.
