Writing the Foreword for RTDE has always been the last step in the process of publishing the journal. The intent has been to give readers a brief overview of the content of the issue. As such, the articles in this issue address topics such as a collaborative program between a university and high school, immigrant students' misconceptions about college, first year performance of developmental students, quizzes and developmental students, and computer-mediated math instruction. The columns continue to present various authors perspectives on topics related to developmental education. This issue contains a book review and an Endnote which asks readers to take a close look at students' beliefs and how these beliefs impact learning.

All of the above are topics pertinent to who we are as developmental educators as well as how we interact with our students. Our interaction should and must continue to focus on student success through our programs and our courses. Developmental education remains one of the positive aspects of higher education because of this. It is something we should be proud of every time we watch one of "our" students graduate.

On a personal note, this is the last issue of RTDE I will edit. There are many, many people I need to thank for their support and wisdom. I need to thank my husband, Len, for his patience with this project. There have not been too many vacations where the journal, in some stage of production, has not accompanied us. To my sons, Adam and Christopher, who can not remember a time when "Mom did not do the journal," thank you. A special thanks goes to Charlotte Cooper, RTDE's bibliographic editor, who spent many hours tracking down and checking each bibliographic entry for every article and to Mary Placito, my secretary, who worked on the journal from the very start to the very end. And fearing I will forget someone in the long list of authors, columnists, reviewers, and members of the Editorial Board, I will just end this Foreword with THANK YOU.
