Paper puppets
Click, Nov/Dec 2003
Here are three puppets to use to create your own stories-a dog, a boy, and a girl. Ask an adult to help you cut out the puppets and the parts on the dotted lines.
For the dog, fold the large shape in thirds on the solid lines, forming a long, narrow rectangle. Fold the long rectangle into fourths, making a "W" shape. Tape the red tongue inside the dog's mouth. Tape the ears on either side of the head. Put your thumb in the bottom pocket and your fingers in the top pocket. Now make your dog talk!
For the boy and girl puppet, cut out the small rectangle and the two circles. Put your fingers in the holes. These will become the puppet's legs. When you want to switch characters, just turn the puppet around and put your fingers in the other side.
