DinO SUCtiOn

Muse, Jan 2005

Speaking of odd eating habits, an ancient sea creature called Dinocephalosaurus orientalis apparently inhaled its food. The key was "ribs" along its five-foot-long neck. Scientists speculate the dino contracted muscles that splayed the "ribs," suddenly widening its throat. That pulled water and anything swimming in the water down the throat.

It was like squeezing the air out of a plastic bottle and then releasing it underwater-only the extra-large version.
