Ixia Announces New Version of IxChariot

Ixia has released version 5.1 of IxChariot, the company's product for enterprise application traffic emulation.

IxChariot 5.1 leverages the wide range of high-performance Ixia hardware test modules to generate Voice over IP (VoIP) streams emulating tens of thousands of bidirectional calls. This release also includes a set of Denial of Service and Internet Relay Chat scripts to measure the impact of these technologies on mission-critical VoIP, streaming media, and other enterprise application traffic.

The new release of IxChariot is capable of accurately generating more than 38,000 bi-directional calls per Gigabit Ethernet port or up to 150,000 bi-directional calls for each four-port Ixia test module. In addition, IxChariot 5.1 enhances IPv6 functionality by now supporting IPv6 Multicast and IPv6 QoS for all application scripts. all VoIP calls can be set up for both IPv4 and IPv6 and operate in conjunction with IxChariot's advanced QoS module.
