Officials from The Guinness Book of World Records confirmed the highest number of players ever recorded on a single game server at the DreamHack Winter 2004 Festival in J'nk'ping, Sweden. DreamHack - the world's largest LAN party and game festival a hosted 1,160 video game players on a Unisys ES7000/540 server.
The Unisys ES7000/540 server, equipped with 32 Intel Xeon 2.2 GHz processors and 32GB internal memory running Microsoft's Windows Datacenter, supported gamers as they competed in "CounterStrike," a popular online, team-based game simulating counter-terrorist warfare.
