Sagebrush InfoCentre

Media and Methods, Jan/Feb 2006 by Cox, Marge

Sagebrush has released InfoCentre 2005, the latest library management system added to the Sagebrush family of information management products. InfoCentre combines the best of Sagebrush Athena, Spectrum and Accent, as well as introduces new features.

InfoCentre has all the features and functionality of an advanced library management system. Users can generate customizable reports using easy drag-anddrop options. InfoCentre 2005 works on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac OS X, or Novell, allowing libraries to use current software and hardware.

Librarians can scan all current barcodes using InfoCentre. There is no need to re-barcode or buy new scanning hardware, saving valuable time and money.

School libraries can also create virtual union catalogs using InfoCentre. These union catalogs can be configured so that users can search only their library, all libraries, or a group of libraries within a school district. It is also easier to clean up MARC records with InfoCentre. Users can merge duplicate records to combine them into one bibliographic record with just one click of the mouse. This provides students with more concise search results rather than having many duplicate titles.

For maximum functionality in a school library, InfoCentre provides many user-friendly options.
