Steven G. Bateman is new CEO of St. Mark's Hospital

Steven B. Bateman has been appointed to take over as the new chief executive officer of St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Currently Bateman is the CEO at Ogden Regional Medical Center and Brigham City Community Hospital. He will begin his new assignment in early December, replacing John Hanshaw, who was recently appointed president of the HCA Mountain Division of Nashville-based HCA Healthcare Corp., which owns all three hospitals.

Bateman started his administrative career 23 years ago at Ogden Regional Medical, then known as St. Benedict's Hospital, as an assistant administrator. He has also has served as CEO of Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City and West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho. He has also been the assistant administrator at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, and chairman of the board of trustees of the Utah Hospital and Health Systems Association.

Bateman's replacement at the Ogden and Brigham City hospitals has not been named.
