Two new businesses to be launched in Salt Lake building

Enterprise, The, Dec 12, 2005

Salt Lake City businessman Jeff Archuletta has purchased an approximately 5,800 square foot industrial building at 340 W. Whitney Ave. in Salt Lake City where he plans to move his company, Arch Consulting Group, launch a business to sell vehicles online and create a music-related enterprise that will package and ship CDs and DVDs in addition to fostering young talent.

Arch Consulting Group, a firm that buys and resells a broad variety of high-tech equipment, is in the process of making the move from 3300 South to the Whitney Avenue building. Archuletta said the company will be joined there by two new ventures - Arch Auto Sales and Arch Music Group.

Arch Auto Sales, Archuletta said, will be an automobile dealership selling vehicles online, primarily via eBay. Arch Music Group will have two components - a CD and DVD packaging and shipping resource for third parties, and a business to seek out, nurture and promote young recording talent.

"We're trying to find local artists that are extremely talented but for logistical and financial reasons find it difficult or impossible to go to Nashville or Hollywood or New York to produce the quality of music that is required to compete commercially," Archuletta said. "I'm kind of putting out a blanket call to find songwriters and arrangers and producers, put together a team of people that can write and produce quality music that the artists here locally can record."

Archuletta said he has been studying the music business since his son won a "Star Search" television talent competition at the age of 12.

"He's going to be 15 next month and he is an unbelievable talent, a gifted singing prodigy type of kid," Archuletta said. "I don't want to have to live in Los Angeles, and I don't want my son to have to fly there for weeks and months at a time."

Archuletta purchased the Whitney Avenue building with the assistance of Innovision Property Group. Ron Bollinger of Commerce CRG represented the seller.
