Intermountain Health Care makes plans to expand Bountiful campus
Enterprise, The, Sep 24, 2007
Intermountain Health Care is planning to expand its Bountiful clinic by 14,000 square feet in order to add more services and physicians to the center.
"The reason we're expanding is really because of the growth in Davis County, particularly in South Davis County," said Jason Mathis, spokesman for IHC. "We've done some studies and surveys and looked at the population there."
The new facility, located at 390 N. Main St., will be shaped like a figure eight, featuring a chrome and glass structure. To accommodate the expansion, a building on the east side of the clinic's parking lot will be demolished and the parking lot will be moved to the south side of 300 North. The current 20,000 square foot facility will increase to 34,000 square feet.
Services being adding to the expanded facility will include an OB/GYN facility, sports medicine, dermatology and allergy services.
"We've had some requests from patients and the primary care providers who work at that clinic to add these specific services," Mathis said.
Six new doctors will be added to the center once the expansion is completed, bringing the total of physicians working at the center to 21.
Jacobson Construction will be the general contractor on the expansion project, which is expected to be completed by late spring of next year.
