Bluffdale-based UCN Inc. begins trading on NASDAQ

Enterprise, The, Nov 19, 2007

UCN Inc., a Bluffdale-based provider of hosted communication systems, has been approved to have its common stock listed on the NASDAQ Capital Market under the existing UCNN trading symbol. Its first trading day was Oct. 26.

"This move to NASDAQ represents a significant milestone for UCN, as we continue to make tremendous strides in building our business and improving shareholder value," said CFO Brian Moroney. "The NASDAQ substantially improves access to trading by the broader investing community and provides increased exposure to the financial markets."

UCN bills itself as the leading provider of all-in-one, off-premises contact handling services that improve the customer contact experience and the productivity of those handling the contacts. Its InContact product includes an integrated suite of core contact handling applications, including contact routing, interactive menus, database integration, automated surveys and scoring analysis, reporting, monitoring, recording, administration and workforce scheduling and forecasting applications. Another product, InControl, is a rapid application development tool that enables InContact customers to develop flexible, customized business contact handling processes in record time.

Since 2004, UCN has grown from 176 to 314 employees, all but 47 of whom work in Utah. Revenues grew from $65 million in 2004 to $82.8 million in 2006. Last month the company ranked as one of the 100 fastest-growing Utah firms on MountainWest Capital Network's Utah 100. It was the fourth consecutive year that UCN has received the honor.

Founded in 1997, UCN has grown in part by acquisition of local companies and technologies. It acquired its network from a Utah-based company called iLink, then acquired its core software technologies from another Utah-based start-up called myACD. Earlier this year, it acquired another software service, its workforce management module, from a Utah-based start-up.
