Richards is new CEO of Industrial Supply Co.

Jon Richards has been promoted to CEO of Industrial Supply Co., a Salt Lake City firm that provides maintenance, repair and operational supplies, specialized services and expert safety training.
His background in distribution, technology and finance earned Richards the position of chief financial officer in 1998. A year later, he was promoted to president of Industrial Supply.
Prior to working with Industrial Supply, Richards held positions as a senior auditor at Deloitte and Touche, and as the treasurer and controller of Associated Food Stores. He serves on the National Advisory Board for the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University and as a trustee of the University of Utah Medical Foundation. He holds an MBA from Brigham Young University and a B.A. in accounting from Utah State University. Former CEO Phil Thompson has been named the company's chairman of the board. Under his leadership, Thompson earned Industrial Supply recognition as the 2000
Subcontractor of the Year from both Thiokol Corp. and the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is serving his second term as the chairman of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah and is a member of the Community Board of Wells Fargo Bank. He holds a law degree from LaSalle Extension University in Chicago.
