Strengthen your knowledge of risk management

Supply Management,  Jan 31, 2008

BRANCH EVENT

If you would like a clearer understanding of risk in purchasing and supply, especially how organisations in the construction and manufacturing sectors manage risk, then don't miss the next half-day event organised by Northumbria branch.

CIPS fellow Colin McNeil, procurement director at Kier Northern, and immediate past chair of the CIPS Construction Procurement Group, will discuss risk assessment in construction projects, including what risk management is, the various impact and probability models and the importance of quantitative assessment procedures.

Other speakers include representatives of manufacturing groups including BAE Systems Submarine Solutions. Steven Brown, branch chair, said: "This event will be of interest to anyone working in construction, manufacturing and logistics, as well as members studying for level 5 of the CIPS qualifications programme."

"Managing risk" will be held on 19 February. It will open at 9.30am for a 10am start, closing around 12.30pm. The venue is the Novotel, Ponteland Road, Kenton, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Book with CIPS customer response centre on 0845 8801188 (local rates apply) or e-mail crc@cips.org.
