Top four buyer challenges addressed in New Zealand
Supply Management, May 22, 2008
CIPS NEW ZEALAND
The four principal challenges facing buyers in 2008 will be explored at the second CIPS New Zealand strategic procurement forum in June.
Speakers will address the effects of globalisation on procurement, socially responsible purchasing, the skills shortage and the evolution of the profession, and supply chain vulnerability.
Jonathan Dutton, managing director of CIPS Australia and New Zealand, said: "Following the successful inaugural CIPS New Zealand strategic procurement forum in 2007, the growing stature of the procurement profession in the country continues to be recognised by the ongoing support of the New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development. We are delighted to once again welcome Lianne Dalziel, minister of commerce, as our first keynote speaker, to formally open the conference."
The full-day programme features senior level speakers from academia and public and private sectors, and will include case studies from practising purchasers. The programme will explore the drivers that influence procurement to provide delegates with ideas and inspiration.
The event takes place on 12 June at the SkyCity Auckland convention centre. For details visit www.cipsaconferences.com.au.
