NJBIZ, Jun 18, 2007
BERLIN Last week A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Inc. announced that company president Lawrence Fine had resigned all of his positions "for personal reasons."
He was named president in June 2001, became chief operating officer in February 2003, and had served on the board of directors since August 2002.
For the first quarter ended March 31, comparable-store sales at the Berlin-based arts-and-crafts retail chain were down by 4.9 percent from the prior-year period, even as profits doubled to $600,000.
Current-year first-quarter sales were up 1.9 percent to $135.4 million from $132.9 million in the same period last year.
