Simple tips
Central Penn Business Journal, Apr 13, 2007 by Fink, Dan
The U.S. Department of Labor offers a small publication for smallbusiness owners interested in starting a retirement plan for their employees.
The pamphlet lays out four options: Savings Incentive Match plans, known as SIMPLE plans; Simplified Employee Pensions, or SEPs; 401(k) and profit-sharing plans; and payroll-deduction IRAs. SIMPLE plans and SEPs are relatively easy to set up, while a 401 (k), though more complex, offers higher contribution limits.
The pamphlet can be found online at www.dol.gov/ebsa/ publications/easy_retirement_ solutions.html.
