PEOPLE: promotions, appointments and hires
ACCOUNTING
Bmc named Michele Clarkson an audit manager with its Baltimore office. Previously, she was with the audit and accounting-services group in the Harrisburg office. She is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Penn State University.
Parente Randolph named John A. Beattie managing director of its healthcare consulting practice. He is a certified public accountant and a principal with the Susquehanna Township office of the firm. He has a bachelor's degree from Temple University.
ARCHITECTURE/ENGINEERING
RGS Associates Inc. of West Earl Township named David Erikson a land planner. He is a registered architect and a graduate of Penn State University.
ASSOCIATIONS
AARP Pennsylvania named Richard Chevrefils state director. Previously, he was director of AARP New Hampshire. He also was with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services for more than 30 years, including stints as the director of the state unit on aging, director of human services and director of child and family services.
Lancaster Young Professionals elected Lucas Morgan president. He is a community office manager with Union National Community Bank. Terry Buda of Union National Community Bank was named past president. INSURANCE
Central Penn Financial Group, an office of MetLife, named Denise Moscarell a financial-services representative. She has 12 years of experience.
LAW
Johnson Duffie of Lemoyne named Kevin Osborne and Jeff Rettig shareholders. Previously, they were principals of Osborne & Rettig. Prior to starting their own firm, they were employed with Thomas, Thomas & Hafer. Osborne concentrates on medical malpractice defense. He has a law degree from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Rettig focuses on auto liability and commercial liability insurance defense. He has a law degree from Dickinson School of Law and was with the U.S. Army Intelligence.
Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott named Ryan B. Caboot an associate with its Harrisburg office. His practice will focus on insurance regulatory compliance and corporate law. Previously, he was a department counsel with the Office of Chief Counsel in the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. He has bachelor's degrees in history and criminal justice from the University of Scranton and a law degree from Dickinson School of Law.
MANUFACTURING
Keener Kitchen Manufacturing Company Inc. of Red Lion named Matthew Horvatinovic chief operating officer. He will oversee daily operations and supervise sales, production, delivery and installation activities. He has been with Keener for 10 years. Previously, he was in charge of manufacturing, pricing and process improvement. He has a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a master's degree from the University of Florida.

REAL ESTATE
East Lampeter Township-based GetMyHomesValue.com named Chad McComsey a graphic designer. He has eight years of graphic design experience in the Lancaster and Philadelphia areas.
Investment Real Estate of Manchester Township named James P. Kohl chief financial officer. He has been the firm's controller for more than five years and oversees all financial, human resource and payroll functions. He is a graduate of Penn State University.
TECHNOLOGY
JPL Productions of Swatara Township named Jason Beck an application developer and analyst. He has more than six years of experience as an independent contractor, development consultant, senior programmer and Web application developer. He will develop Web content-management applications. Eugene Cristoaica was named a lead application developer and analyst. He has more than 10 years of experience and will build and integrate complex Web-based applications. Kim Quigley was named a Web application developer and analyst. In addition to application development, she has experience in user support and training, user-interface design, quality assurance, testing and documentation. She has more than six years of Web site development experience.
Chester County-based Advanced AV, which specializes in audiovisual systems integration, named Pat Bucher an account executive in the Harrisburg, Lancaster and York markets. He has more than 20 years of audiovisual and professional video experience with Panasonic Corporation of North America and other audiovisual dealers.
TRANSPORTATION
Harrisburg-based Capital Area Transit elected Frank Pinto chairman. He has been on the board since 1984. Also named were: Todd Pagliarulo, vice chairman; David Morrison, treasurer; Dan Purdy, secretary; Eric Bugaile, assistant secretary; and Don Geistwhite assistant treasurer. The Cumberland County commissioners appointed Ken Groff to the board.
