icm07 goes from strength to strength
Credit Management, Dec 2006
Organisers of the icm07 credit management convention are to increase capacity within the exhibition centre by 50% following an exceptional response from exhibitors to the UK's first exhibition, conference, and awards ceremony of its kind to be held under one roof and on one day.
The news follows confirmation of some major names to the event - including Atradius, Callcredit, Coface, Credica, Creditsafe, D&B, Euler Hermes UK, John Marston & Co, Moreton Smith, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Talkingtech and TraceSmart - with the existing floor-space effectively sold-out nearly six months before the event is due to be held.
"It is a remarkable success," reports ICM Director General Philip King, "but it clearly reflects the very real appetite that exists within our industry for a professionally organised event of this kind. By increasing the exhibition footprint, we can now make space available to exhibitors who might otherwise have been turned away."
The organisers have also released the names of the judging panel for the first ever icm07 Awards, including Peter Hurst FICM, Chief Executive of CIFAS, the UK's fraud prevention service. Master Robert Turner, President of the ICM and Senior Master of the Supreme Court (Queen's Bench Division) and Alan Long, Head of Development with the Regulation and Standards Division at the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). Joining them are Desmond Flynn, of The Insolvency Service, and Jeff Tucker, Export Focus.
"What is important to stress about the Awards," Philip continues, "is that they are all aimed at the professionals within our industry, rather than suppliers, and have clear integrity. The judging criteria and nomination process will be both objective and robust; self-nomination is not permitted and achievements have to be quantifiable."
icm07 has one purpose - to further the advancement of the credit profession across all sectors. Billed as the first ever Credit Management Convention, and being held at the conference and exhibition suite at Wembley Stadium on 14 March, icm07 will offer credit professionals an unprecedented opportunity to gain expert advice from leading industry authorities at the conference, review the latest products, services and innovations at the exhibition, and network with their peers at the icm07 Awards.
The launch of icm07 reflects the Institute's pledge to provide Members and the credit management industry with the practical tools, information, recognition and support they need to compete in an increasingly demanding business environment. It is also wholly consistent with its commitment to deliver its promise to 'Empowering the credit profession.'
