obituaries: Mack C. Jay III

Mack C. Jay III, IFCCE, 60, of Greensboro, N.C., died on Jan. 30, 2008. The founder of Romac Financial Services, Jay was extremely active in both ACA International and the North Carolina Collectors Association. He was a past member of the ACA Board of Directors, the Membership Board of Review, and the ACPAC, Public Relations and Publications Committees. He was a past president for the North Carolina Collectors Association.

Jay was recognized numerous times for his service to ACA. He was a winner of the Hye H. Holland Award for National Excellence and the Beacon Award. He also achieved the Scholar and Fellow Degrees and was a recipient of the International Fellowship of Certified Collection Executives.

Jay's service extended beyond the credit and collection industry. He served on the Pfieffer University Board of Directors, where he funded the establishment of the Mack C. Jay III International Center for Executive Leadership.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; children, Mary and Ashley; and sister, Cecelia.
