One member has declared candidacy for ACA International's treasurer election
One ACA member has announced his candidacy for the office of ACA International (ACA) treasurer for the 2008/09 fiscal year. The announced candidate is:

The Affiliated Group
Rochester, Minn.
ACA Agency, Affiliate and Asset Buyers Division (ABD) Members
ACA agency, affiliate and ABD members are eligible to vote at the ACA Annual Meeting of the Membership on July 2 5, 2008, provided:
1. At least one person from that member's office has registered as a full first person/delegate for the convention;
2. The full first person/delegate from that member's office is present for the balloting; and
3. The company was a member of record in ACA as of June 1, 2008.
To avoid questions about any member's right to vote at the ACA Annual Meeting of the Membership, visit the convention registration desk before the ACA Annual Meeting of the Membership to check whether the member company's representative is registered as a full first person/delegate.
Occasionally, an individual who is registered as a full first person/delegate will not be in attendance at the Annual Meeting of the Membership. In this event, it is possible to designate another individual from the member company's office to assume the individual's standing as a full first person/delegate.
However, the individual must make this change before the voting registration and sign-in process begins at 3:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, July, 25, 2008, at the Annual Meeting of the Membership. Individuals who wish to substitute another individual from their office location as the member's full first person/delegate at the Annual Meeting of the Membership should notify the convention staff at the convention registration desk.
Each member company is entitled to cast one vote. Therefore, companies that maintain multi-office memberships are entitled to cast a vote for each membership maintained in the association. A representative for each member office must pay a full first person/delegate registration fee and be present for the balloting in order to qualify the member office for a vote.
No changes or adjustments can be made once the registration/sign-in process for the Annual Meeting has begun.
Creditors International (CI) Members
CI individual members are eligible to vote at the ACA Annual Meeting of the Membership on July 25, 2008, provided:
1. The CI member has registered as a full first person/delegate for the convention;
2. The CI member is present for the balloting; and
3. The individual was a CI member of record in ACA as of June 1, 2008.
Individuals who maintain both individual and agency memberships must designate the membership category from which they choose to cast their vote. Duplicate voting is prohibited. Voting privileges are not transferable for CI members under any circumstances.
Members' Attorney Program (MAP) Members
MAP individual members are eligible to vote at the ACA Annual Meeting of the Membership on July 25,2008, provided:
1. The MAP member has registered as a full first person/delegate for the convention; or
2. The MAP member has registered for the Members' Attorney Program Legal Education Conference held in conjunction with the convention;
3. The MAP member is present for the balloting; and
4. The individual was a MAP member of record in ACA as of June 1, 2008.

Proxy Statements
No proxy statements are accepted for the Annual Meeting of the Membership. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Absentee Ballots (Contested Elections Only)
In the event the election is contested, absentee ballots will be made available to any eligible full first person/delegate and any MAP member registered for the MAP Legal Education Conference, who is unable to be present at the Annual Meeting of the Membership. In this event, absentee ballots will be available from the ACA corporate secretary or her designee. Ample blocks of time will be established and posted at the convention registration desk indicating when the corporate secretary or her designee will be available to issue absentee ballots during the convention.
Absentee ballots must be completed and returned to ACAs corporate secretary or her designee in person by the delegate. Absentee ballots will only be accepted from persons who are registered as a full first person/delegate registrant for the entire convention, are present for at least two full days of the convention or from MAP members registered for the MAP Legal Education Conference held in conjunction with the convention. Faxed absentee ballots will not be accepted. No absentee ballots will be available or issued after noon EDT on Thursday, July 24, 2008.
Registration/Sign In
Before members enter the meeting room, eligible voters (first person/delegate convention registrant or MAP member registered for the MAP Legal Education Conference) will be asked to sign beside their names on the official registration list. After signing in, these voting delegates will be given a voting paddle and ballots for the contested election. Voting delegates are asked to sit in a designated area restricted to voting members.
