Position transducers
SPACEAGE CONTROL, PALMDALE, CALIF. The Series M general-capability position transducer gives long displacement range, multiple mounting options, and size efficiency for OEM and high-volume applications. With a maximum range of 85 in. (2,159 mm), the Series M line has nearly double the capabilities of competing OEM-type sensors. A reduced displacement cable fleet angle increases repeatability and reduces cable overlap. Three options give users flexibility in mounting the Series M transducers. More than 50 are available for electrical connectors and signal conditioning. The Series M products allow mounting of SpaceAge Control's patent-pending RoundAbout cable exit for 360 ? 360 degrees displacement cable orientation. This cable exit offers control over how and where the displacement cable moves relative to the application.

Reaction torque sensors
PCB PIEZOTRONICS INC.. DEPEW, N.Y. The company's Force/Torque Division has a series of strain-gauge reaction torque sensors for torque measurements on accessories such as starters, alternators, air conditioning compressors, power steering gearboxes, and water pumps. Series 2300 and 2500 reaction torque sensors feature high torsional stiffness and flange mounting. They come in full-scale capacities from 5,000 to 500,000 in.-lbs. (0.56 to 56.5 N-m). Other applications include testing of brake torque, bearing friction small motor dynamometers, pumps, stepping switch torque, and fluid viscosity. Units are supplied with a shunt calibration resistor.

Rotary union
DUFF-NORTON CO., CHARLOTTE, N.C. The company's 1900 Series rotary union comes with the highest psi ratings of any rotary union, according to the company. Rotary unions or rotating joints are designed to provide a rotating seal between fluids and a revolving roll or drum. Commonly conducted media are water, hot oils, chemicals, hydraulics, and air. The 1900 Series was developed for very high-pressure applications up to 10,150 psi (700 bar) and with maximum temperature ratings up to 248°F (120°C). Standard models feature nickel-treated carbon steel construction, but are also available in stainless steel. The 1900 Series is equipped with a double acting thrust bearing and bronze bushing. The bearing permits higher pressures, while the bushing increases the guide of the shafts to allow faster than conventional rotating speeds obtained from most high-pressure models. Sizes range from 1/4 to 3 in.
