HARVARD USES CASE-STUDY MODEL

Credit Union Management, Jun 2008

There's no better teacher than real life. At Advanced Leadership Institute, participants are challenged to apply their on-the-job experience to real-life scenarios while interacting with peers and Harvard Business School faculty to create a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity.

The Advanced Leadership Institute, offered by CUES in partnership with the California/Nevada Credit Union League, July 20-25 at the Harvard Business School, Boston, employs the HBS case study method, a powerful learning model that spotlights situations in the context of learning the real problem by asking the right questions. Participants engage in lively give-and-take discussions of case studies with attendees and instructors.

Advanced Leadership Institute curriculum is tailored specifically for credit unions, while incorporating a broad strategic view that scans the marketplace. The Leadership, Alignment and Organizational change course explores the critical functions and personal qualities that contribute to effective credit union leadership. Strategic Finance looks at key developments in the financial services sector that impact credit unions. In Strategy Development, participants will learn how to target customers with the right set of products and effective delivery. In Next Level Marketing, participants will learn about brand creation and positioning.
