PHP Launches New Individual Health Insurance Product: Indigo Individual

Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana Inc. (PHP) has expanded its product line to include health insurance plans for individuals and families.

The Indigo Individual product is designed to provide high quality coverage with a variety of options to match individual needs, lifestyles and budgets. Individuals can select from a wide range of benefit levels each containing 100% coverage for a number of preventive screenings and services to support their efforts to stay healthy. Indigo Individual" is designed for early retirees, part-time workers, students, self-employed individuals and small business employees.

"PHP is constantly working to provide greater access and more choices in affordable, high-quality health insurance for everyone in northern Indiana," says Jay Gilbert, PHP's president and Chief Executive Officer. "This product will benefit the growing number of individuals who do not have access to healthcare benefits through an employer."

Maria Jackson, vice president of Individual Products, says that the market for individual health insurance is growing.

"We want to offer those individuals who are looking for coverage a variety of PHP options to choose from. One benefit plan does not work for everyone, so we've developed a range of choices, including high-deductible plans that can be paired with a Health Savings Account," she says.

"There has been a lot of interest in Indigo. We have been actively quoting policies on our Web site and through independent insurance agents. Sales are already building. It's exciting to see how well it is being received," says Jackson.
