ExxonMobil seals multiple licensing agreements

Chemical Engineering Progress, Feb 2003

ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. (EMRE; Fairfax, VA; www.exxonmobil.com) has recently formed several licensing agreements. EMRE will license its Thermal DeNOx technology, a selective non-catalytic NOx-abatement process, to Hamon Research-Cottrell (HRC; Somerville, NJ; www.hamon.com), an air-pollutioncontrol equipment and services provider.

HRC's first application of Thermal DeNO, a large coal-fired boiler in Kentucky, is in the engineering stage. EMRE has also licensed its Flexsorb amine-scrubbing technology to Shell USA (Houston, TX; www.shellus.com) for use at Shell's Martinez, CA, facility and its SCANfining sulfur-reduction process to Chalmette Refining LLC (Chalmette, LA; www.exxonmobil.com), a joint venture between ExxonMobil and Petroleos de Venezuela (Caracas; www.pdvsa.com).
