Aventis promotes improved Dr. Chart program, MyDocOnline software suite

Medical Marketing and Media, May 2003 by Arnold, Matthew

AVENTIS has upgraded its MyDocOnline software suite with the launch of Practice Solutions, software that automates billing, prescribing and other functions. The company also has expanded its Dr. Chart program to check for Medicare compliance before ordering tests and to provide the needed paperwork if Medicare turns it down.

MyDocOnline, designed to increase patient compliance and office functionality, launched last year with Dr. Chart, a program for computers and PDAs engineered to give doctors easy, computerized access to patient records.

MyDocOnline also offers MyDocOnline Connect, a Web-based software allowing patients with chronic conditions to talk to their doctors online in cases where a physical examination is not needed, ensuring doctors reimbursement for consultations they would not have been paid for had they occurred via telephone.

Dr. Chart is currently used by 15,000 physicians, while MyDocOnline Connect has more than 300 active users servicing 10,000 patients. The programs are being promoted via Aventis' direct sales force, at medical conventions and through limited online and print advertising, along with PR targeting trade journals and local and national press.
