Displaced Physicians World goes ahead with CME program

Medical Marketing and Media, Oct 2003 by Tosh, Mark

THOMSON PHYSICIANS World expects to lease and move into new office space within two months, after a fire left its Secaucus, N.J., location unusable.

Physicians World has temporarily relocated two-thirds of its staff to The Medical Economics Co. building in Montvale, N.J. (Medical Economics is in the process of being sold to Advanstar - see page 36.) The balance of the staff now works from GeoMed Global Communications in Secaucus.

The cause of the blaze, which started on Saturday, Aug. 16, has not yet been established.

Meanwhile, the company is preparing to move ahead, as planned, with a five-day medical education program in Durham, N.C, Oct. 25-29.

Duke University School of Medicine and Thomson Professional Postgraduate Services will co-sponsor the program, "CME Leadership in the 21st Century," which is designed to help CME leaders meet public and industry needs for greater accountability and competence in formats that support physician development.
