WebMD announced a long-term strategie relationship with Boots UK Limited, a pharmacyled health and beauty retailer in the United Kingdom. The partnership is geared toward the development of an online consumer health and wellness portal in the UK. The site will advertise OTC drugs and other products in accordance with the relevant guidelines in that country, a WebMD spokesman said. The portal is expected to launch during the second half of 2009.

Google Health partnered with CVS Caremark to launch a new product allowing users to store, organize and manage their medical records and health information online. Also, patients being treated at MinuteClinic, a clinic and subsidiary of CVS, will be able to import visit summaries into their Google Health accounts.

The Doctor's Channel partnered with Crain's to provide video news on the business of medicine, according to David Best, founder and president. The partnership will provide Crain's with a video newsletter containing the top healthcare-related stories, said Best, adding that companies like J&J and Merck are including the content on their sites' newsfeeds.
