Unitika fibers introducing Nano-Tex technology

Asian Textile Business, Sep 2003

Unitika Fibers Ltd. has closed a contract with ITMC, the Japanese agency for Nano-Tex, LLC of the U.S., for the introduction of Nano-Tex processing technology. This technology modifies the properties of all kinds of fibers by controlling the fiber and molecules in nano scale, and improves the durability of dyeing and finishing for enabling repeated washings.

Unitika Fibers will introduce three kinds of technical know-how: "Nano-PeI", "Nano-Dry" and "Nano-Touch".

"Nano Pel" offers superior water and oil repellency. "Nano-Dry" is a continuous process for achieving a durable hydrophilic property, which can withstand more than 50 washings. "Nano-Touch" is a process which covers synthetic fibers with cellulosics to reduce an unnatural feeling and the luster of synthetic fibers.

The processed materials are to be used for sportswear and home interior goods.
