Japan: Kanematsu Textile Consuming 200 Tons of "Meryl" Nylon

Kanematsu Textile Co., Ltd. is marketing nylon 66 material "Meryl" from Nylstar Ltd. (a joint venture of Rhodia and Snia) in Japan and Indonesia. The annual consumption this year, the initial fiscal year, is 200 tons. The sales items are fabrics 50%, made-up products 30% and yarns 20%. Kanematsu has increased the product categories to include wool blend, cotton blend, yarn dyed fabrics, knits and denim by promoting the product development through aggressive cooperation with fabric manufacturers and dyeing factories.
Kanematsu and Nylstar have agreed to market Japan-made "Meryl" textile products for the high class fashion zone. Kanematsu intends to export the products in addition to the marketing in Japan.
