LiquidLaser printer from Lexmark

Office Solutions, Aug 2001

Lexmark has introduced the J1 10 color printer with new LiquidLaser technology, touted by the company to be the best of both ink jet and laser printing. "The ink jet-based technology enables laser speed and quality without having to pay laser prices," explained Paul Rooke, Lexmark vice president and Business Printer Division president. "The J110 removes the speed and affordability obstacles typically associated with color printing and combines the heart of an ink jet with the benefits of a laser printer."

The new model is designed for small workgroups within enterprises and small businesses that need a business-class color printer to meet both color and monochrome printing needs. In normal mode, the printer produces 16 ppm in black and up to 10 ppm in color. In draft mode, color printing can attain 14 ppm, and the J110 can handle about 10,000 pages per month. The J1 10 works with a variety of media types-paper up to 140 pound as well as transparencies, envelopes, labels, and card stock. It offers manual one-touch duplexing and booklet printing capabilities, and the network model comes standard with two input sources to give users the ability to have a variety of papers and media available in individual trays.
