Oki Data brings printing press to desktop level

The new OKI C9000 series color printers have four in-line digital LED printheads and image drums, which enable the printers to lay down four colors in one pass at 21 ppm on various paper sizes and stocks. The Canadian magazine IT for Industry recently used the OKI C9000s to produce a full print run of its magazine cover rather than outsource the job to a commercial printer. The publication employed its Old Data printers to produce 22,000 full-color, six-paneled covers for a tight deadline.

"Rather than have our commercial printer do the job, we used the C9000 series printers, which proves just how far printer technology has come," said Adam Pletsch, editor of IT for Industry. The Oki Data C7000 and C9000 series color laser printers have won several awards recently, including PC World Top 10 and two ZDNet Reviews Best Buy awards.
