Speedy color printer, two printer/copiers from Minolta
Office Solutions, Feb 2002
Minolta's new CF2001P color printer offers businesses a 20-ppm, high-- volume color printer that produces consistent color, is easy to operate, and expands to meet new office needs. It fills the niche between high-end desktop color laser printers and digital color printer/copiers and is based on Minolta's CF line of digital color printer/copiers. The CF2001P can produce full-bleed 11 x 17-inch print output on 12 x 18-inch paper. It processes all four colors in one pass to enable its quick speed, and the company's Fine Edge Enhancement Technology automatically detects fine edges and redefines them, boosting edge resolution to 600 x 1800 dpi from the machine's standard 600 x 600-dpi print resolution.
The optional paper cabinet enables a maximum 3,250-sheet capacity, and other options include stackless duplexing, automatic sorting, stapling, and three-hole punching. This new printer can handle a wide range of paper sizes and up to go-pound stock. Refilling toner is easy and clean, and toner can be added while printing continues. The embedded Fiery X3e print controller from Electronics for Imaging provides both novice and expert users with an easy way to manage the production of color documents. The X3e comes with a variety of software, such as ColorWise, DocBuilder, FreeForm, Command Workstation, NetWise architecture, and Fiery WebTools.
Other Minolta debuts include two new digital printer/copiers for small offices and workgroups. The Minolta DiAlta Di183 and Di152, which print at 18 and 15 ppm respectively, are both equipped with i6MB copier memory and can be upgraded to 48MB. They have scan-once, print-many technology; zooming from 50 to 200 percent by one-percent increments; and text and photo exposure controls. To enable printing, the Pi1802e embedded print controller is available, and optional fax kits for regular and Internet faxing can also be added to transform these two new Minoltas into full-fledged MFPs.
