National Express appoints TPS

Insurance Brokers' Monthly and Insurance Adviser, Nov 2005 by Newman, Andrew

Travel insurance specialist Travellers Protection Services is a 'white label' provider of travel insurance, and I spoke with business development manager Will Sommerville following TPS's recent appointment by National Express to provide an online full-service travel insurance product aimed at the 12m people who travel with the coach operator each year.

He reckons the deal was secured because TPS can offer a full service in-house. That includes policy fulfilment, a call centre, medical screening and claims handling. Single trip and annual policies are offered on the National Express website to ticket buyers. TPS already provides travel insurance for National Express's sister company Eurolines.

Will Sommerville: "I believe this new deal reinforces our growing reputation as a 'white label' provider. We have extensive experience in the travel market, and have a thorough understanding of the coach sector. We make a competitive product offer, and our web development expertise combines to form an attractive proposition for companies wishing to add travel insurance to their own customer offer." TPS was set up in 1990 and employs 60 people in Norwich.
