Sea Technology, Oct 2005
New Bedford, Massachusetts, is a town that has reinvented itself as a "high-support" environment to assist new early-stage companies with growth and job-generation potential. Through a collaborative partnership project between the city of New Bedford, the New Bedford Economic Development Council and the University of Massachusetts, companies in the marine industry can have a point of focus for entrepreneurial training and a location for start-up activity.
Other key points that the Quest Center highlights are access to hands-on management assistance and guidance to access financing and exposure to business and technical support services, and access to student interns and faculty from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
